Gitte Hendrikx fascination with the principle of ‘Tout Bouge’, which declares that everything moves has led her to work with the notion of staging. She makes use of objects that hold the traces of use, simple objects that have the ability to depict whole characters. Her works, forms and images constantly shift between being performative and waiting backstage, thereby acting as constant scene-shifters. She works with video, performance, sculpture and drawing.
