Alma Gestes is a collective project. It brings together artists, designers, theoreticians and art critics who have been invited to exhibit a list of documents and books from their own libraries. While the project avoids common pitfalls of anthologies, every list of favorite books shows various forms of enunciation, ranging from manifesto to monomaniac collection and include arrangement whose accidental randomness brings nearer antagonist theories. Such as a mashup portrait, every book inventory unveils its author’s views on his own practice, as much as a polyvocal discourse asking for its reconstitution.
